BISHOPTON PARISH CHURCH
Pastoral Visiting Team
Our Church formed a Pastoral Visiting Team in 2016. This is made up of 14 volunteers who feel able to spend a small amount of their time visiting those within the Parish who are either lonely, housebound, unwell or just people who may benefit from a friendly face calling from the Church. The volunteers are supported by the Minister and PVT coordinator.
Since inception the role has slowly evolved and expanded and prior to the pandemic restrictions, we supported services at the Cornerstone and Ailsa Lodge, the Lunch Club and visited members in residential care. Hopefully we shall soon be able to recommence visits and these activities.
Throughout the pandemic we continue to reach out to the community with phone calls and specialist “treat” deliveries for example afternoon tea. A small team of volunteers visit members weekly to deliver a soup lunch accompanied by a quiz activity. CD recordings of the Sunday service have been made available and we have supported the minister with flower distribution and “care” cards to ensure members are aware they are being thought about by the Church community.
If you know of anyone who may benefit from a call by the team or indeed are interested in joining us and have a couple of spare hours a month, please contact as below.
